  • Easy Nursery Design's that won't break the bank

We all love looking at those beautiful Pinterest and Instagram pictures of perfectly designed nurseries and kid's rooms. (Find some of our favorites throughout this blog post)

Of course it's lovely to have the means to employ an interior designer to put together a magazine worthy room for our offspring. But the truth of the matter is most people don't and that's were MINIMAINS easy hacks for a lovely, beautiful room come in.

All you really need is a floor plan of the baby or kids room! (If you don't have an official one from your landlord or architect, just draw the room yourself, doesn't need to be perfect, take a measurement tape and measure the walls and put the numbers on your sketch)

Now take inspiration from all those gorgeous Pinterest Boards and determine what color/colors you can imagine for your little one.

Project nursery has all the nursery decoration trends 2017 for you. But still, go with your gut, surfe the Pinterest boards and Instagram pages and find the color scheme that speaks to you.

White walls are always great but if you prefer just take the picture off a color you like to your next Home depot and let them give you enough to paint a wall or two. Not necessary to paint all walls, nooks and corners. Cashmere grey, lilac, soft rose and blue are all classics that are timeless.

Who would have known but stores like Walmart, Target, and more have great, affordable cribs, changing tables and everything else needed to create a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere for your baby and yourself. Make sure you choose one with non-toxic wood and finishings. (you can email or call customerservice if it doesn't say in the description) Theres a lot of options below $200.

We do love white, but there are some dark brown and colorful options as well. Once you decided on the pieces you like, draw them into your floor plan. (Have 5 copies of the floor plan for variations) Less is more. A crib with a good organic matraze, a small changing table with storage beneath or a dresser that doubles as changing table and depending on size of the room maybe rocking chair. Get a small table lamp from Ikea and see some design ideas here (link xxx) to make it yours.

IKEA has great dressers in all sizes that double as a changing table, just change the drawer knobs and be surprised by the huge different it makes! (Don't forget to secure the changing topper securely to the dresser and never leave the baby unattended)

Now let's do the fun part. MINIMAINS is obsessed with re-usable wall stickers. They exist for any theme, any color and any design. They are super affordable, ship quickly and are easy to apply! And easy to take off once it's time for something else. Adorable butterflies, flowers, trees, animals of all kinds or a lovely saying above the crib instantly gives the room the feeling of well put together. White wall and those and it looks like professionally designed! There are a ton of suppliers online and so many options to choose from.

What to do with all the creams, baby brush and other daily items? Any old shoebox can be brought to life with some fabric or pretty ribbons glued on to hold all babies necessities. Take some pretty pink or blue gingham fabric and textile glue and the box will look like from an expensive shop. Tutorial will be posted soon.

A pretty pillow (H&M has great home accessories), blanket and a pretty lamp are mostly enough decoration beside the wall decoration.

Your mind is a blank canvas and you need some help to get started? Email MINIMAINS your floor plan and we will send you back some simple ideas and suggestions for any budget.

Please note. We are not interior designers but creative moms sharing our experiences. We are not affiliated with any of the above suggested vendors and are only expressing our own taste and products we like.

  • Meet the founder & designer of MINIMAINS

    MINIMAINS- 100% Eco-friendly * Designed in NYC

Meet the successful business woman, mom to adorable twins girls and the founder behind one of the newest 100% eco-friendly baby and kids brands based out of NYC.

Founded in Summer 2016 by Nataly Rothschild the brand has far exceeded expectations by being featured numerous times in Vogue, Tatler and Glamour magazines.

MINIMAINS is a luxury cashmere brand that is tailored towards babies and toddlers. It's main goal is to provide an exceptionally high quality cashmere line that is ethically made and 100% Eco-friendly without silicone and extra softeners.

Nataly has always loved cashmere for its soft luxurious feel and it's well known ability to add extra warmth on the coldest of days by maintaining healthy body temperature. Plus she knew that a touch of soft luxurious cashmere added to any outfit gave it a little something special.

After having her twins; Nataly set forth to pursue a new goal in her already busy life. She wanted to combine her strong business and leadership background, her natural gift of creativity and her self driven drive of entrepreneurship to create a collection of 100% Eco-friendly cashmere goods of the highest quality tailored towards babies and children.

MINIMAINS is now leading the way in the much loved cashmere market. Nataly has found a way to offer affordable cashmere goods that are handmade of only the finest quality cashmere and that are strictly in line with the Eco-friendly regulations of the U.S and with the the even stricter guidelines set forth by Germany.

Nataly took a year to educate herself on the ins and outs of the cashmere market; she learned everything she could about cashmere, the production processes for cashmere items and assessed the broad range of the different qualities of cashmere fibers that were available and their costs.

Her next goal was to find a manufactory that was socially ethically and centered around helping the economy flourish to stay in line with her vision. She did not want to follow suit with her future competitors and have her Cashmere goods mass produced by machinery in China. She believed that by having a manufactory close to the source of this beautiful fabric and in a location that is centered around respecting the environment, ethical production practices, and sustainability she could come closer to maintaining her vision for MINIMAINS.

After many months, Nataly chose a small manufactory in Nepal. This was a time consuming but crucial decision for her. It was one of her top priorities to get this decision correct in order to move forward with her concept. She felt that only by finding the right fit she could stay on track with the socially-conscious concept that shaped the blueprint she envisioned for the development of MINIMAINS.

Transparency in every aspect of her company would give her the confidence to know that she was maintaining the strong ethical framework she strongly desired to build around her company. The right manufactory would be the important platform she needed to move forward.

By choosing this particular manufactory she was able to cut out many of the costs associated with middlemen. She is able to use the highest cashmere fibers available and have each item handmade by the best cashmere artisans.

Nepal is known for its environmentally friendly and peaceful culture and also is in dire need for more opportunities for women in the workforce. MINIMAINS shows its truly beautiful concept of providing sustainable goods by not sacrificing any aspect of this vision to cut costs. Each peace is loving handmade by women that are happy to have an opportunity to be a part of the work force and provide for their families.

A strong and close relationship with the manufactory is key. Nataly personally continues to make sure each and everyone one of her high standards continues to be upheld by checking in everyday.

As MINIMAINS grows, it's collection of quality items continues to expand. Her beautiful cashmere line of hats, gloves and cardigans are available for purchase online at MINIMAINS.com. Same day delivery is offered in New York City and MINIMAINS ships worldwide. Also offered are matching hats and scarfs for adults so they can be just as warm and cozy as their little ones.

The next phase of MINIMAINS is in its final stages. A collection of French inspired pieces to compliment her cashmere will be available later this month. It will offer expertly designed onesies, pants, dresses, shirts and bloomers that will compliment her cashmere pieces. All handmade in NYC.

Nataly is also happy and excited to announce that MINIMAINS will be once again acknowledged by Vogue this month as well.

You can read more about MINIMAINS and view and shop her current cashmere collection at MINIMAINS.com.

  • The ultimate HEALTHY Ice pop. Super Vitamins, Antioxidants & Protein!

Aren't we all struggling with picky toddler eating sometimes (or all times)?

Every day I am trying to think how to add more Vitamins to my kids diet in a kids attractive way. Most days the tiniest green speck of spinach on pasta will lead to a "EWWWW mommy what's that? I can not possible eat this."

One way to get a boost of Vitamins, Antioxidants and even protein into these little lovable monsters are my ultimate healthy, super delicious ice pops. Prepared in as less as 5-10 minutes and ready to eat as soon as frozen. Or if your kids like to eat sorbet style textures they can actually eat it immediately, same if used as smoothies.

Favorite colors and fruits play a role in this so make it a super special treat (and announce as that) by using your kids taste and love for their favorite color and it becomes a personalized magic ice pop.

I am not big with accurate measuring so it's always a test kitchen over here but I try to be as exact as possible. You can always leave an ingredient out or add something else and will come out great!

One of my girls loves purple, so here we go with the:

ACAI, Blueberry, Raspberry, Spinach, Protein & Chia Seed Ice pop.

Acai Blueberry Protein Ice pop. Vitamins, Antioxidants, Chia seeds

    You need a kitchen blender.

1/2 pack Frozen Blueberries (if I have I add some fresh ones too)

1 x ACAI pack (I use the plain unsweetened one but theres a variety of them in your health store)

1/2 pack Raspberries (frozen or fresh)

small handful frozen spinach (small pieces)

    1-2 ts chia seeds

2 TS Protein Powder (I use either "way better than whey" which is organic, plant-based and has no added sugars or "Pea Protein Powder" unsweetened and unflavored.)

1 cup almond milk (or whole milk or kefir up to your taste - if you prefer completely milk free, just add more water)

2-3 cups water (I use poland spring but filtered water should just be as fine)

1 pack of Stevia sweetener or 1 spoon of honey or 1 spoon of brown sugar if you like it sweeter. (I usually mix everything first and then try it when ready and if not sweet enough I add it)

All ingredients beside the water and sweetener go into the blender. Press "SMOOTHIE" button and let it mix. Then start adding the water through the top spout until a smooth texture. If still too icy, press liquify button and wait until texture you like. If needed add some more water)

Fill into Icepop molds and put in freezer. This will be enough for 6 Icepops and a huge glass of the most delicious smoothie for you. (and your kids, spouse, partner or whoever you like to treat to a vitamin bomb)

You can change fruits and veggies as you like. Strawberries, Apple, Pears, Carrots, Ginger, be creative!

For my Mango Pineapple Icepop I only use 4 ingredients:

Pineapple Mango Ice pop Smoothie. Vitamins, Antioxidants, Protein, Chia Seeds

    1/2 pack of frozen pineapple,

    1/2 pack of frozen mango

    3 cups of water

    1-2 ts chia seeds.

Same as above, mix all ingredients. First add only one-two cups of water and then refill from the top spout as needed to get desired texture.

Fill in ice pop molds and/or a glass and enjoy!
